5 TIPS FOR AIRPORT STYLE

Sometimes we forget airports are hidden shopping gems, and Brisbane Airport is no exception. Brisbane Airport definitely has some stylish stops before you take off. From Fonzie Abbott coffee (which is a Brisbane favourite!) to our hottest retailers Witchery and Seed – you’ll have heaps to explore. I love nothing more than a little shop pre-flight. Even when I am rushing to my gate I always manage to stop and grab a magazine. You never know what new arrivals in fashion or bargains you will find. Trust me, I love airport shopping!

When Brisbane Airport asked me to show my favourite spots to shop before a flight I couldn’t say no. Airport style is one of my favourite things – you want to look effortlessly chic and comfy at the same time. So of course make sure to bring your sneakers! But besides sneakers I wanted to share my 5 tips for airport style that will keep you looking funky fresh every flight. Now, let’s get into it.

NO. 1

ALWAYS

HYDRATE

Destination: Mecca Maxima

Item: Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream from Drunk Elephant

Hydration is always key when flying – not just with water but with moisturiser too. You’ll always feel your best when you have a trusty moisturiser on hand. Sometimes we forget to bring it along but never fear Mecca Maxima is here. I love to use  Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream from Drunk Elephant. Also it’s vegan so added bonus!

NO. 2

COMFY

FEET

Destination: Peter Alexander

Item: Ladies Fluffy Bunny Slipper

Now one thing we forget is to fling off our shoes on the flight and pop on some comfy slippers. Nothing beats giving your feet some room to move on flight. So if you forget a pair in your carry on – why not duck into Peter Alexander and grab a fun pair.

NO. 3

ALWAYS

IN

SHADE

Destination: Sunglass Hut

Items:
VOGUE EYEWEAR – VO5235S GIGI HADID COLLECTION

PRADA PR 56TS

There is one item that will elevate your airport style sky high – a pair of fabulous frames. Now, if you forget one when travelling, the airport always have great variety. Sunglass Hut is not only affordable but has plenty of high end exclusive pieces if that’s what tickles your fancy.

NO. 4

SCARF

IN

HAND

Destination: Mimco

Item: Fusion Scarf

Scarves are such a big trend at the moment and they are so versatile. From being worn as a crop top (if you are heading to a summer vacay), wrapped on your head or the good old fashion around the neck. A simple piece like this is perfect to bring your airport style all together. Mimco’s range of scarves are so unique they make a stunning souvenir or gift.

NO. 5

STAND

OUT

Destination: Witchery

Items:
Printed Pleat Dress
Jace Stud Phone Holder Wallet

Remember your departure outfit is comfy but when you arrive – you need to bring that style. It’s always great to grab a new season piece before you arrive at your destination because you never know what events may pop up. You want to stand out and feel fresh – nothing says “hello I’ve arrived” more than a new dress and bag!

Now this outfit has a little trick! Want to try a bumbag but can’t find the right one? Well did you know you can turn practically any small handbag into a bumbag. I did that here with Witchery’s phone holder bag. You simply thread the bag straps through the bag and clip it inside with a hair tie or use the clips that attach the strap to the bag. Tie it around your waist and there you have it! A DIY bumbag of your choice.

Shop The Brisbane Airport Look

Destination: Seed

Items:
Amore Top
Check Blazer
Mid-Rise Turndown Jean
Double Ring Mini Bucket

Bonus Tip! When building up an outfit you need to remember to layer up. Whether it’s a sweater under a blazer (like my look below from Seed) or a tee with a coat paired back with a jean. It’s the best way to ensure you’ll be ready for any weather ahead or any chilly plane air conditioning.. Seed is my go to shop in Brisbane Airport when needing a head to toe casual outfit in a rush.

So remember the next time you go to Brisbane Airport stop and check out some of these shopping spots. Trust me you won’t be disappointed!
